There’s something for everyone at the High Cross Inn….Sausages. Sunsets. Supper. Superb company.  Sleepovers.  Oh, and we are nuts about dogs……you can bring yours with you!

Great escapes start here!

We have remodelled the High Cross Inn into a delightful Café, Bar and Terrace: we’re situated just outside Broughton in Furness at the top of the hill on the A595.

We offer a trilogy of great food, a unique venue and memorable hospitality. Come and join us for the Broughton Festival of Beer.

Our brilliant breakfasts are served from 9am; full English, vegetarian, ‘house’ Bircher muesli, porridge, pancakes, plus fresh coffee, tea, juices & smoothies. Hot snacks and meals include paninis, deli sandwiches, a ‘special’ of the day including a non-meat option and delicious home-made soups. Gluten free and vegetarian options are always on the menu.  In house artisan bakery.  Award-winning craft beers and a selection of house wines.

Our boutique B&B bedrooms boast unsurpassed views over the  West Cumbrian landscape, flat screen TV and Wifi access. Residents’ kitchen.  Laundry facility. Drying room. Ample free parking.  Dirty, wet dog wash and towel station.

Conservatory available for private functions, events & celebrations.

Eat, meet, celebrate, relax & sleep @ the High Cross Inn.

We’ve retained our full license but have made the leap towards ‘craft beer’, small batches of ‘hooch’ created using Cumbrian rain-water, hand-crafted by a master brewer, bottled and served best chilled. We have 4 of the best Hawkshead as regular features: Brodie’s Prime, Red, Lakeland Gold and Windermere Pale. Our bottled ‘house’ Lager has just been awarded National award and is a match for any of the European brands.
Hawkshead Tiramisu Imperial Stout is our ‘guest’ beer for the festival….which we’re serving in small tots or shots on the hour, every hour, or in 330ml bottles. It’s a 10% ABV so be prepared to have your socks blown off!
