"Pop-up Pub" - Travellers Alms (Ulpha) Youll find the Travellers Alms just beyond Ulpha Bridge on the road to Eskdale (at the Browfoot Rooms).
Friday and Saturday 12 noon - 10pm. Buses
Well be here as part of the Broughton Festival of Beer raising money for The Gunson Alms Houses. These cottages situated at Ulpha provide low cost, local, affordable housing. They have helped ensure that for the past 100 years the Duddon Valley remained a vibrant living community. They are however in need of major refurbishment to ensure they remain relevant in the 21st Century and the next 100 years. The Travellers Rest, Ulphas last pub, stood close by and William Gunson was once landlord of the Plough (now Kirk House Farm). So a pub seems a fitting way to raise money for our charity.
